Wednesday
Nallely never planned on becoming a dog mom. As comfortable cat parents, she and her partner had no intention of adopting a dog — until a frantic German Shepherd–Rottweiler–Retriever mix darted across a busy Pasadena street on Black Friday. What started as a temporary rescue quickly became a forever bond. Today, Wednesday greets her with a favorite toy at the door every day and has completely rewritten their idea of family.
Join us as we sit down with Nallely to hear how this unexpected meeting changed everything, and why Peony Celeste’s values of community and care felt like home.moments feel a little brighter. Join us as we sit down with Valerie to hear how this Velcro puppy changed everything, and why choosing products with heart matters so much to their daily life.
Can you introduce yourself and your pup Wednesday, and tell us how the two of you found each other?
We are Nallely & Wednesday. Wednesday is a German Shepherd, Rottweiler, and Retriever mix. Wednesday came to us unexpectedly. We were very comfortable as cat pawrents and had no intention of adopting a dog. We found Wednesday on our way to do some impromptu Black Friday shopping. I spotted Wednesday frantically running across a busy street in Pasadena. I was very worried that she would get run over, so we had to stop. I thought at most we would take care of her until another option was found. The connection Wednesday and I had was instant, but because I found her with a collar I wanted to ensure she had an opportunity to find her people. The moment Pasadena Humane Society changed her status to adoptable, I was there ready to pick her up. I truly believe I was exactly where I needed to be to find her.
What’s a moment with Wednesday that always makes you smile or feels especially meaningful?
The first time she fell asleep on my lap will always be my favorite memory. She came to us very nervous and this was a turning point. She also makes my day daily by greeting me as soon as I walk in the door with her favorite toy — it instantly melts away the stress of the work day.
What’s been your experience using Peony Celeste poop bags with Wednesday — any favorite things about them?
I never worry about the quality. As a first-time dog mom, there were some not-so-fun experiences in the beginning 😅 thinking that all poop bags were the same. My favorite thing aside from the peace of mind is the fact that the bags are environmentally conscious.
What values or feelings drew you to want to represent Peony Celeste?
The values that drew me in were Peony Celeste’s commitment to community and the environment. Both of those values align with my personal values.
Why is it important to you to support woman-owned and small local businesses?
As a woman it is my responsibility to support other women and I love cheering on the women in all the spaces that I am part of. Supporting women-owned businesses and small businesses feeds into community building and it is something I actively strive to do whenever possible. I feel that local businesses put so much love and intention into their development of their products and that results in the best products for Wednesday.
More Than a Portrait
I’m honored to create studio portraits for the dogs who have become the heart of our community. Each portrait celebrates their unique personality, love, and joy. These photographs are more than keepsakes—they’re a tribute to the bond that inspired Peony Celeste from the very beginning, and memories families can treasure for years to come.
Every ambassador has a story worth following. If you’d like to see more of Wednesday’s journey, visit @ twocatsandadoggie on Instagram and say hello from the Peony Celeste family.
The Ambassador Portrait Project
This little project is my way of saying thank you to our incredible brand ambassadors and the humans who love them.
Every dog has a story. Some have helped their families through life’s hardest moments. Others have inspired new adventures, brought laughter back into a home, or simply made every day brighter. Those stories are the heart of Peony Celeste.
When I photograph your dog, I do my best to capture more than just how they look. I hope to preserve their personality, their spirit, and the little expressions that make them uniquely yours.
I truly believe these portraits are one of the most meaningful gifts I can give to our ambassadors. It’s my way of celebrating the bond you share and thanking you for being part of this community.
I feel incredibly grateful for every dog and every family I’ve had the privilege to photograph, and I can’t wait to create many more memories together.
