Quincy

There’s something truly special about the dogs who just get the camera.

Meet Quincy, an adorable Boston Terrier and one of Peony Celeste’s beloved Brand Ambassadors. This little pro absolutely shines in front of the lens. She is calm, confident, and full of personality during our studio photo session. Behind every great pup is an even greater human, and today I’m sitting down with Rachel, Quincy’s mom, to hear their story.

From how Quincy became part of the family, to the joy (and chaos) of life with a Boston Terrier, to what it means to support a small local brand like Peony Celeste, Rachel opens up with so much heart.

Grab a coffee, settle in, and meet the duo behind the cutest little face on set…

Q: How did you first meet Quincy?
A: I first met Quincy at Maximum Companions in Jurupa Valley, California. On Christmas Eve, I got a text saying they had a very special little boy they wanted me to meet, and he would be ready to come home in just two weeks. I met Quincy and his twin brother, Poe, on New Year’s Eve, and I knew immediately that Quincy was meant to be mine because he ran right into my arms. He would run off to play with Poe, but he’d always come right back to my husband and me. Two weeks later, I returned to bring him home, and he’s been my best friend—we’ve been thick as thieves ever since.

Q: How’s Quincy present changed your life?
A: I can barely remember what life was like before Quincy! It was probably a lot quieter and definitely a lot less fun. Before him, I didn’t go out very often and found it somewhat difficult to make friends outside of school and work. Quincy completely changed that. Now we have plans almost every weekend, whether it’s attending an event, exploring somewhere new, or meeting up with friends. Through him, I’ve met so many wonderful people in the dog community. It’s been so special to be surrounded by people who love and cherish their dogs as family, just like I do with Quincy. We’ve also built little daily traditions together, like our daily walks, working on his service dog tasks, and having our nightly ice cream together, that have become some of my favorite parts of the day.

Q: Does Quincy have a favorite spot for his business?
A: Quincy is a quick to potty boy. He gets straight to business and wastes no time. At home, he prefers to go in our backyard on the little rocks, and on walks he’ll usually pick a patch of grass. He’s not very picky, though—if he really has to go, he’ll happily use whatever spot is available! When he was a puppy, he had a peculiar habit of going potty on our bathmat while I was in the bathroom. Thankfully, he outgrew that phase and we got a new bathmat!

Q: What do you look for in every day dog essentials?
When it comes to the items I use for Quincy every day, I look for quality products that make our routines easier. I love supporting local brands, and Peony Celeste has been the perfect fit for us. I have some adaptive challenges with my hands, so finding everyday essentials that I can use independently is incredibly important to me.
Peony Celeste bags are easy for me to tear off the roll, open quickly, and are deep enough that I don’t have to worry about touching his business while scooping or tying the bag. Having a bag that opens easily is also a huge help because once Quincy is done with his business, he’s ready to keep exploring and he definitely doesn’t like waiting around for me to finish cleaning up after him!

What does being a Peony Celeste Ambassador mean to you?
Quincy being a Peony Celeste ambassador is such a honor. When I got the news, I was so excited and grateful that Quincy would be chosen for such a wonderful opportunity. Peony Celeste is a brand I truly love, not only for the quality of their products but also for what they represent and the values they stand behind. Peony Celeste is a local, woman-owned brand that genuinely cares about the local dog community, believes in sustainability, and never sacrifices quality. It means so much to me that Quincy can be associated with a brand that shares the same values we do. I’m proud to support and represent a company that creates products with so much care and purpose.

Q: Any final thoughts you’d like to share?
A: Quincy is an IVDD survivor, a service dog for his mommy, a therapy dog at our local hospital, and an AKC Canine Good Citizen & has his Trick Dog Advanced title. He has an incredible ability to bring love, comfort, and joy wherever he goes. Quincy even found his mom’s cancer and saved her life. Beyond all of his accomplishments, Quincy is a little love bug who truly loves everyone - especially Misa! We are so proud and grateful to be a part of the Peony Celeste family and to share our journey with a brand that believes in the same values we do.

More Than a Portrait

I’m honored to create studio portraits for the dogs who have become the heart of our community. Each portrait celebrates their unique personality, love, and joy. These photographs are more than keepsakes—they’re a tribute to the bond that inspired Peony Celeste from the very beginning, and memories families can treasure for years to come.

Every ambassador has a story worth following. If you’d like to see more of Quincy's journey, visit @itsquincythebostonterrier on Instagram and say hello from the Peony Celeste family.

The Ambassador Portrait Project

This little project is my way of saying thank you to our incredible brand ambassadors and the humans who love them.

Every dog has a story. Some have helped their families through life’s hardest moments. Others have inspired new adventures, brought laughter back into a home, or simply made every day brighter. Those stories are the heart of Peony Celeste.

When I photograph your dog, I do my best to capture more than just how they look. I hope to preserve their personality, their spirit, and the little expressions that make them uniquely yours.

I truly believe these portraits are one of the most meaningful gifts I can give to our ambassadors. It’s my way of celebrating the bond you share and thanking you for being part of this community.

I feel incredibly grateful for every dog and every family I’ve had the privilege to photograph, and I can’t wait to create many more memories together.
