Luna

For Isabella, Luna has been far more than a companion. She has been a source of comfort, courage, and unconditional love through every season of life. From everyday adventures to life’s biggest challenges, their journey together is a beautiful reminder of the extraordinary bond we share with our dogs.

Let’s dive into our conversation with Isabella, Luna’s mom

How has Luna walked with you through different seasons of your life? When Luna came home as a surprise graduation gift from my parental units at just 8-weeks old, she fit perfectly into my heart, and my Ohana. She had the sweetest little heart-shaped nose, impossibly fluffy bear cub paws that she hasn’t grown out of, and a smile that could brighten even the darkest days. If you look closely, you’d notice one of my favorite details about her—a touch of blue in her right eye, giving her a bit of Heterochromia that makes her completely one of a kind.

As my first dog, she taught me what unconditional love really feels like. Throughout the ups and downs of having PMOS and my battle with depression, she’s been my constant, my adventure buddy, my reason to get outside, create, laugh, and keep moving forward.

People often say we rescued our dogs, but when I look back on the last few years, I truly believe Luna rescued parts of me too. She didn’t just become part of my story—she helped write it. My Lunabear turned ordinary days into adventures, strangers into lifelong friends, and a house into an Ohana filled with love. And she may be Welsh, but she has an Argentine spirit, my Corgentina, full of sunshine and good vibes.

When my world was changing fast, Luna’s immediate, absolute need for me provided instant structure and purpose. Throughout all of it, Luna has given me something to look forward to. A reason to keep creating, and a reason to keep living. I’ll always remember this loaf-shaped shadow who walks beside me through every season, making each one feel a lot lighter.

What’s a moment that made you realize how deeply bonded the two of you are?
I don’t believe there was just one moment, but rather the bond revealed itself little by little. It was when I realized I couldn’t imagine my life story without her in it. She wasn’t just walking beside me anymore, she had become home. Luna didn’t just join my Ohana in April of 2023—she found the place where she was always meant to be.

In what ways has she brought more beauty, softness, or strength to your journey?
I dreamed of one day having a corgi of my own. Because of Luna I discovered a version of myself I didn’t know existed. She brought beauty into my life by teaching me to slow down and notice the little things. Sunrises at the beach, and even wildflowers on a hiking trail. The joy of watching her swim at the lake or even in a pool, or even bringing joy to strangers, truly makes the ordinary days feel worth remembering.

She brought softness by reminding me that love doesn’t always have to be earned. Luna never cared what kind of day I had, whether I felt confident or overwhelmed, or even dealing with an episode from having PMOS, she simply loved me for me. That kind of unconditional love has been a quiet gift. Lunabear has given me comfort without needing words and reminded me that showing up for someone is sometimes the greatest act of love.

She brought strength by giving me a reason to keep living. She needed walks, adventures, playtime, and care, even on days when my heart and mind felt heavy. Without realizing it, she helped me build routines, find community, explore places I might never have gone, and create memories I will treasure forever.

People often say dogs only get a chapter of our lives—but Luna didn’t just become a chapter in mine, she helped me write some of the most beautiful pages.

When you think about your path together, what are you most grateful for?
April 15 2023, my parental units surprised me with the corgi I had always dreamed of. I didn’t realize I was meeting one of the greatest loves of my life—my soul dog. I am most grateful that Luna loves me through every version of myself. She has never asked me to be happier, stronger, more successful or even more put together. She is 100% my soul dog—the one who feels as though she was always meant to find me. She continues to fill my life with beauty, adventure, creativity, friendship, and unconditional love. Because of her I’ve watched more sunrises, explored more places, laughed more, and found joy in days that might have otherwise passed me by. And every single day, I tell her how thankful I am for her and that we found each other.

What does it mean to have Luna as your steady companion every step of the way?
Having Lunabear as my steady companion every step of the way means I’ve never had to walk through life completely alone. She has been my source of comfort during tears, my biggest cheerleader during victories, my best friend on countless adventures, and the quiet heartbeat that continues to make this house feel like a home. When I look back on our life together, I won’t remember every destination we visited or every photograph we took, but rather the feeling of her paws following me from room to room—the warmth of her curled up next to me after a long day. The excitement in her eyes every time I asked, “Ready to go?” That’s what it means to have this loaf by my side, a constant in a world that is always changing. The greatest journeys aren’t defined by where you go, they’re defined by who walks beside you, for me, that has always been my Luna.

Because Luna deserves the very best on this journey, what does it mean to you to support a small woman-owned business like Peony Celeste that creates quality products with heart?Supporting a woman-owned small business like Peony Celeste means so much more than simply buying a product. For Luna and me, it means choosing people over products. It means supporting someone who has built their brand rooted in creativity, quality, and heart. What started our love for Peony Celeste are her poop bags—yes, poop bags, they’re honestly the most luxurious poop bags I’ve ever used. They’re soft to the touch, thick, durable, and incredibly easy to use. No flimsy bags, no annoying paper strip to peel away, and no wrestling with the roll after you’ve cleaned up. Separate easily, open quickly, and are sturdy enough that I never have to second-guess them. It’s one of those everyday essentials that you don’t realize could be improved until someone actually takes the time to improve it. Misa doesn’t just make products that look beautiful—she creates products that make everyday life with our dogs better. Supporting Peony Celeste isn’t about just buying luxurious poop bags, it’s about believing quality still matters and choosing thoughtful craftsmanship over shortcuts. It’s about uplifting women entrepreneurs and celebrating diversity in small business. We are certainly lucky to have such a gem in the pet community.

More Than a Portrait

I’m honored to create studio portraits for the dogs who have become the heart of our community. Each portrait celebrates their unique personality, love, and joy. These photographs are more than keepsakes—they’re a tribute to the bond that inspired Peony Celeste from the very beginning, and memories families can treasure for years to come.

Every ambassador has a story worth following. If you’d like to see more of Luna's journey, visit @lunabear_corgi on Instagram and say hello from the Peony Celeste family.

The Ambassador Portrait Project

This little project is my way of saying thank you to our incredible brand ambassadors and the humans who love them.

Every dog has a story. Some have helped their families through life’s hardest moments. Others have inspired new adventures, brought laughter back into a home, or simply made every day brighter. Those stories are the heart of Peony Celeste.

When I photograph your dog, I do my best to capture more than just how they look. I hope to preserve their personality, their spirit, and the little expressions that make them uniquely yours.

I truly believe these portraits are one of the most meaningful gifts I can give to our ambassadors. It’s my way of celebrating the bond you share and thanking you for being part of this community.

I feel incredibly grateful for every dog and every family I’ve had the privilege to photograph, and I can’t wait to create many more memories together.
