Lola
A conversation with one of our favorite dog-mom ambassadors
We’re so happy to introduce Meredith and her best girl, Lola — a feisty black-and-tan tweenie dachshund with a personality as big as her heart. Meredith shared the sweet (and hilarious) story of how Lola came into her life, plus a few thoughts on treats, poop bags, and why supporting small, woman-owned brands matters.
Can you introduce yourself and your pup Lola, and tell us how the two of you met?
Hi! I’m Meredith, and this is Lola, black and tan tweenie dachshund and my absolute best girl. Lola was actually a surprise wedding gift from my husband!
At the time, he was living in Colorado while I was in California. One day he texted me and asked if I could pick something up for him. He sent me an address, so I drove over thinking I was simply running an errand. When I got there, a man came out and handed me Lola!
I was completely caught off guard, but I fell in love with her instantly. The drive home was definitely an experience because Lola was so feisty — and honestly, that part of her personality has never changed! She came into my life with a huge personality and has been keeping me on my toes ever since.
She’s so much more than a pet to me — she’s family, my little sidekick, and the inspiration behind so much of the content I create. I can’t imagine my life without her.
What’s Lola’s favorite food or treat?
Lola is very food-motivated and loves just about anything, but chicken is definitely at the top of her list! She gets so excited when she knows there’s food involved, and she has absolutely no problem letting us know when she thinks she deserves a treat.
She’s definitely a spoiled girl, so I have to keep an eye on how many treats she gets… because if it were up to Lola, she’d be snacking all day!
Is there any food that tends to make Lola’s poop runny? And how has your experience been with our poop bags?
Because Lola loves food so much, I have to be careful with how many treats and people foods she gets. Just like us, too much rich or unhealthy food can upset her stomach. If she gets a little too excited with the snacks, it can definitely show up during our next walk!
That’s one reason I really appreciate having good-quality poop bags on hand. We’ve had a great experience with Peony Celeste’s bags — they’re sturdy, easy to open, and reliable. When you’re dealing with a less-than-perfect poop situation, the last thing you want is a bag that lets you down!
What values made you want to represent Peony Celeste?
I really love that Peony Celeste feels like more than just a pet brand. The focus on quality, thoughtfulness, and creating products that make everyday life with our dogs a little better really resonates with me. I also love being able to represent a brand whose values feel genuine and align with the way I care for Lola.
Why is supporting woman-owned and small local businesses important to you
Supporting women-owned and small local businesses is important to me because I know how much heart, time, and hard work goes into building something of your own. There’s usually a personal story behind the business, and I love being able to support people who are turning their ideas and passions into something real.
I also think our everyday purchases can make a difference. Choosing to support a small or woman-owned business helps keep that dream going and allows those businesses to grow. I’m always happy to support brands that are doing something they genuinely care about.
More Than a Portrait
I’m honored to create studio portraits for the dogs who have become the heart of our community. Each portrait celebrates their unique personality, love, and joy. These photographs are more than keepsakes—they’re a tribute to the bond that inspired Peony Celeste from the very beginning, and memories families can treasure for years to come.
Every ambassador has a story worth following. If you’d like to see more of Lola's journey, visit @lola.ladoxie on Instagram and say hello from the Peony Celeste family.
The Ambassador Portrait Project
This little project is my way of saying thank you to our incredible brand ambassadors and the humans who love them.
Every dog has a story. Some have helped their families through life’s hardest moments. Others have inspired new adventures, brought laughter back into a home, or simply made every day brighter. Those stories are the heart of Peony Celeste.
When I photograph your dog, I do my best to capture more than just how they look. I hope to preserve their personality, their spirit, and the little expressions that make them uniquely yours.
I truly believe these portraits are one of the most meaningful gifts I can give to our ambassadors. It’s my way of celebrating the bond you share and thanking you for being part of this community.
I feel incredibly grateful for every dog and every family I’ve had the privilege to photograph, and I can’t wait to create many more memories together.
